~ Our Church History ~

On September 4th 1982 acting in obedience to The Holy Spirit, the New Deliverance Church was organized by five faithful souls, Reverend Michael R. Taylor, Cleveland Williams, Hazel Williams, Gloria Euseary and Pollyanna McDaniels on Northfield Street in the home of Cleveland and Hazel Williams.

It was Mother Mary Myricks who first blessed the ministry by opening up the doors to the sanctuary of the St. Jude's Church of Northfield Street, Detroit Michigan where our first morning worship services were held and that Reverend Taylor preached his first sermon to the congregation entitled "A House Is Not A Home If God's Not There."

During this first morning worship service, Mother Helen Collins, Deacon Earnest Little, Sister Queen Ester Stanton and Sister Ethel Jackson rededicated their lives to Christ Jesus and united with the New Deliverance Church.

In those days of new beginnings, the church would continued to be blessed with many strong saints such as our First Lady Sernitta Taylor, Deacon Willie Gladney, Deaconess Annie Gladney, Deaconess Willie Williams, Mother JoAnn McCoy, Sister Jackie Stanton Butts, Sister Barbara Stanton Williams and Sister Alisha McCoy Engram who would come and join the ranks of its congregation to solidify the strength of the church and carry its "God Given Vision" into the years to come.

After four years of fasting and praying, it was on Sunday, October 23, 1986 that the New Deliverance Church moved into its new location at 4718 32nd Street and was reorganized as the "New Deliverance Church Of Truth Incorporated" under the continued leadership of our now "pastor" Reverend Michael R. Taylor.

It was during these years that the church experienced great spiritual and physical growth. Evangelist E. Wilkerson, Evangelist Bernice Simpson, Elder Terrance Lewis, Elder Vanessa Canady and Reverend Michael Turner along with a host of ministers, deacons and lay members who would come to join in the work of the church and the pulpit in preaching The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the spring of 2002, God spoke to Pastor Taylor through a "vision" instructing him saying: "Take heed now, for I have chosen thee to build an house for the sanctuary: be strong and do it!"

After four years of fasting and praying and the blessing of God, it was on Saturday, April 8th 2006 that the New Deliverance Church of Truth Incorporated was rededicated as the "New Deliverance Pentecostal Church Of Truth Incorporated" in its "newly built sanctuary" located at 4718 32nd Street Detroit, Michigan where we now joyfully and faithfully . . .GIVE GOD ALL THE PRAISE AND GLORY!
