"The Anointed Place Of Prayer"

"Then Jacob woke up and said, Surely the Lord is in this place, and I wasn't even aware of it."  He was afraid and said, "What as awesome place this is! It is none other than the house of God - the gateway to heaven!"  The next morning he got up very early.  He took the stone he had used for a pillow and set it upright as a memorial pillar.  Then he poured olive oil over it.  He named the place Bethel - The House of God - though the name of the nearby village was named Luz.  (Genesis 28:16-19)

Jacob anointed the place where he met with God in prayer and named it Bethel, "the house of God."  Similarly, wherever we meet with God, that is our anointed place of prayer.

Both prayer and the place we pray are anointed because of the presence of The Spirit of God.  When God met with Moses at the burning bush with His fiery presence He consecrated it as "holy ground" (Exodus 3:5).  The threshing floor that David brought from Arauah was an anointed place of prayer.  David built an altar there (II Samuel 24:18-25).  And Solomon built his altar there also (II Chronicles 3:1).  The site was ancient Mount Moriah upon which Abraham had built his altar to sacrifice Isaac his son (Genesis 22).  This place was certainly an anointed place of prayer!

There is nothing inherent in a place that makes it anointed.  But when The Oil of The Spirit is poured out in an area where God and man meet, THE PLACE BECOMES ANOINTED!
